Make the Bed I make the bed every day before I leave for work. This is what it looks like when I walk out the door in the morning.
This is what it looks like everyday when i get home. Murph digs the covers back and makes a little nest to snooze in. I think it's hilarious. Unfortunately due to the snow, the fireworks were cancelled tonight, and I have decided not to go to the GSA pub crawl. I don't really like to venture out in the snow, I'll probably take it easy tonight. Tomorrow I'm making the food for the party and maybe going to a mammoth game, so I should be well rested and ready to roll on Saturday morning. Labels: Murphy 03.29.07
Birthday Dinner We had a terrific dinner at Fruition in Denver. We were a little early, and headed to the restaurant across the street for a cocktail. Our table was ready at 7, and we had a great meal. To start we shared Potato-Wrapped oysters Rockefeller and The Fruition Salad. The oysters were great, very concentrated flavor. Mom and Jill had the Crock-Pot Veal Cheeks, they melted in your mouth like butter, Dad had the Grilled Certified Angus Beef Coulotte, and I had the Maple Leaf Farms Duck Breast, which was lovely. It was a really fine evening.

Pictures from Flip Night It took me a minute to get these up, they are from last Wed when Jill and I met Sameera for Flip Night at the Front Porch. I especially like my excellent post-ballet class hair-do.

Birthday Greetings So 26 really wasn't a bad year. Granted it started off with the broken foot, and the cast, and all the hassle that entailed, it turned out really well. My friends all moved back to town one by one. I was given the opportunity to further my education, and get paid for it. I moved into an schiesty little apartment that I have been able to make into a home for Murph, Kitty and I. I started driving again, and I'm definitely not as scared of the open road anymore. I've got a job that I hate, but which allows me to work flexible hours for good pay, which in turn allows me to eat something other than Ramen Noodles for dinner every night. I still have bad taste in men, and an uncanny ability to overlook some major red flags, but I have great friends and family who help me bounce back from each and every doomed relationship I embark upon. I think I get better looking, smarter and funnier every year, so getting older doesn't seem that bad at all. In fact, every year that passes leads me a little closer to the person I am trying to become, and I can say for the first time ever, I am succeeding.

Miracle
This stuff is amazing. I have a reoccurring zit next to my nose. I've had it for like ten years. It comes back every three months or so. This time it was huge. Larger than my earrings. Like a pus filled balloon. Enormous. It is resilient, whatever I do, I can't get rid of it. I have even resorted to digging it out with a paring knife on more than one occasion. This dried it up over night. Hooray. Miracle. Labels: Product Endorsement 03.23.07
I missed one! I forgot to attach the best picture. I went to work today. Paul won't talk to me, he wouldn't even look at me. I don't know what I did. Labels: Murphy 03.23.07
Murphy Eating an Apple I know this sounds pathetic, but I'm just still miserable. I wonder if I would feel better if Paul had given me some kind of reason for dumping me, instead of just disappearing, but I don't know. Maybe I'd just be miserable either way, because I was happy with Paul. That really doesn't matter, because he was obviously not happy with me. Go I'm so fucking pathetic. I promise I'll be over it soon. Until then here is Murph eating an apple. How cute is he?

The Jill Show While Jill showed off her moves, I chatted up a tall dark and handsome gentleman. I never really forgot how much fun it is to be single.
I wish I had pictures of the rest of our night, because this is where it really got interesting. We were trying to leave before bar time so we could get a taxi, but it really didn't work out and we could not flag one down. In our brilliant drunken judgement we decided that it would be easier to get a cab if we took the shuttle all the way to the other end of 16th street. We piled onto the shuttle with all the other drunken buffoons, and headed all the way down toward the civic center.
It wasn't until we piled off the shuttle that we noticed there were no cabs to be seen. We were a little worried, but started walking down Colfax towards Suzie's house, and the promise of a nice, warm bed. We walked a few blocks before it dawned on us that it was a few miles, and we really couldn't walk it in our stupid cha cha pumps. (God bless 'em)
Jill notices the number 15 bus, asks if he goes all the way to Colorado, and then asks, in that innocent Jill way, if he takes credit cards. Obviously he said no, but took pity on us and let us hop on the bus gratis. The bus was packed, so we had to stand right next to the driver who asked us where exactly we needed to get off. There was no stop anywhere near our street, so he pulled over and let us off right where we needed so we wouldn't have to walk too far.
It was awesome, and we were really lucky because we could just as easily have been stranded.

Tequila! Owing to the fact that I hadn't eaten in four days, I passed on the tequila shots. But not Jill, that's my girl!
