On Sunday we went to the park to enjoy some of this amazing weather! It is sunny and bright and the park was packed- and this in Chicago in January! Unbelievable! Henry was less impressed with the park than we were.
On Saturday we had a pretty big scare. Henry knocked down a baby gate and fell down the stairs. It was definitely the scariest moment of my life, I can’t stop thinking how lucky we are that the worst of his injury is the bruise on his face and not a broken arm or broken neck. It has been keeping me up and giving me nightmares ever since. Do me a favor and check all of your baby gates tonight.

When I was about Henry’s age I feel down the basement stairs in my walker. My Mom was downstairs doing laundry and said that she heard my wheels hit the tile in front of the door and her heart stopped. She still talks about that sound.
I guess this is just to say that I’m really glad he’s ok and that the memory will probably never go away but hoping that you get some peaceful rest soon!
Oh wow I’m glad he’s ok! I bet every parent on earth could talk about a near miss like this. Good thing babies are pretty resilient.
So glad that Henry’s okay! The grumpy face on the swing is so adorable it melts my heart!

Glad to hear everything ended up ok…as my mom would I’m sure tell you, it happens to everyone. My dad DROPPED me down the stairs (true story) when I was a little one. It was only a few steps and I survived!
Also, side note: you were a really lovely pregnant woman. Not that you’re not lovely now, of course, but you know what I mean! What a beautiful photo of you!

It does happen to everyone! Both of mine have taken a tumble down a couple of stairs (might be uncoordinated genetics in our case though!). The scary one was a little guy I baby sat for. He fell down the stairs to the unfinished basement (on dad’s watch, not mine). He had to have a cast on his leg – when he was learning to crawl! It was so sad!!
