One of the biggest perks of home ownership for me is the freedom to do and grow whatever we want, wherever we want.
We are growing squash, chard, kale, peppers, radishes, eggplants, lettuces, carrots, onions, Brussels sprouts, beets, corn…
And lots and lots of tomatoes.
We got all of our tomato starters from a local “farm” a small family operation that starts heirloom seeds out of their house here in town.
I have a wonderful assistant!
When he is not fresh from the bath he helps me in the dirt, it’s all I can do to keep him from shoveling handfuls of soil directly into his mouth!

Is Henry anemic? Craving dirt is a sign of an iron deficiency.
Your garden looks great Drea! I’m sure you are just itching to start eating it all. You’ll have to share some recipes with us!
And kids are hilarious. I think their first instinct is to just put everything in their mouth. It’s how the explore the world.
liam loves to eat dirt, too. i’m surprisingly getting better with the amount of nature that finds its way into his mouth.
and I am drooling over your garden…mmmm you did such a wonderful job!! I wanted so badly to get a garden going this year but I couldn’t with the move so I just have a giant planter of tomatoes. Can’t wait to next year! Enjoy
